This is actually a chicken and pork pie, with a home-made pastry. The pastry – on the top anyway – was perfect: golden brown and crispy. The bottom was sadly a little soggy, but maybe because we ate our cold chicken pie lukewarm. Maybe the bottom will improve in the fridge overnight? The one unanimous complaint was that it was dry. The culprit may be the lack of sausagemeat – again I used pure pork mince, with probably hardly any fat in it. It could have used a little gravy. But tasty, all the same.
