The Delia Project (#28): Smoked Bacon and Lentil Soup

Smoked Bacon and Lentil Soup

Whilst whilst the weather here is showing signs of Spring, it is still quite chilly so I thought I’d squeeze another soup recipe in.

As far as I know, there is no smoked bacon available in Switzerland, so I’ve used normal streaky bacon. The other ingredients are green-brown lentils, carrots, onions, celery, a tin of tomatoes, home-made stock (I used chicken stock) and cabbage.

Just the thing for a cold – supposed to be Spring – day!

I usually use the samll cut up bacon pieces or Rohschinken pieces, they give a nice flavour too. you can buy either as small cubes in Coop as well as migros
